Festival Tourism
Unique Divine Travels focuses festival tour on Tshechu (sacred performing arts) that is held depending on the auspicious day of Bhutanese Lunar Calendar. Among several Tshechus in Bhutan, our special festival tour is Jampa Lhakhang Tshechu which carries paramount sacred values and showcases cultural integrity, arts and crafts.
March to April and September through December
Day 1: Arrive in Paro
Reception at the airport by Unique Divine guide and driver;
Visit Ta Dzong (watch tower) which is transformed into a fascinating museum that showcases Bhutanese rich art and artifacts; and
Night halt in hotel.
Day 2: Paro sightseeing
Trekking to Taktshang monastery (Tiger Nest);
Visit Kichu and Dhungtsi Lhakhangs if time permits; and
Night halt in hotel.
Day 3: Paro to Bumthang
Fly to Bumthang;
Visit Kurjey lhakhang (temple), Tamshing and Kharchu monasteries;
Stroll in Chamkhar town; and
Night halt in hotel.
Day 4 and 5: Witness Jampa Lhakhang Tshechu
- Attend Jampa lhakhang Tshechhu that performs extraordinary sacred naked dance associated with other mask dances and cultural programs; and

- Night halt in hotel.
Day 6: Chamkhar to Ura (within Bumthang)
Visit Ura, Shinkhar and Tangsibi Lhakhangs (temples) and go for village walks; and
Night halt at Tangsibi (home stay).

Day 7: Bumthang to Phobjikha
Visit Black-necked crane information center and search out for the globally endangered bird using long range telescope;
Drive to Gangtey monastery;
Stroll in Phobjikha small town; and
Night halt in hotel.
Day 8: Phobjikha to Thimphu
Visit Chimi Lhakhang, a temple popularly revered for human fertility enrichment was blessed by Lama Dukpa Kunley who was known as Divine Madman;
Stop at Dochu La (Pass) where there are 108 Chortens (stupas);
In the evening visit Tashichodzong, the fortress that serves as seats for government and monastic bodies; and
Stroll in Thimphu city.
Day 9: Sightseeing within Thimphu
Drive to Zorig Chusum, institute where traditional thirteen types of arts and crafts of Bhutan are being taught;
Visit Buddha Point where there sits a gigantic bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni;
Visit Folk heritage museum and Takin (Bhutan’s national animal) preserve; and
Night halt in hotel at Thimphu.
Day 10: Thimphu to Paro
- Depart from Paro airport.
Cost includes:
Accommodation (3 star hotel with twin beds)and home stay;
3 Meals a day;
Transportation within Bhutan;
Trekking equipment - tents, sleeping bag, mattress, etc;
Service of experienced English speaking licensed tour guide;
Service of cooks; and
Pack animals or riding ponies with porter.
